Abstract

Nowadays university staff faces new challenges regarding the improvement of the educational quality and innovation in higher education. One of these challenges is the integration of research with teaching activities and curricula design. This article explores the problem of integration of research in teaching practice in higher education. Based on a literature review, Design-based Research is proposed as an alternative approach that provides epistemological and methodological horizons in order to integrate research with design and practice.
