This paper aims to assess the transmedia journalism developments in Ecuadorian digital media. This assessment is the outcome of a research project that studies digital storytelling in social media, published by six media outlets in Ecuador: El Comercio, Expreso, El Universo, la Posta, GK and Primicias. As a result, 3.645 stories were assessed through a quantitative content analysis design, that allowed to determine which are the trends of digital storytelling in Twitter and Instagram, and stablish the differences between the two social media outlets in terms of transmedia journalism.
