Nuevos enfoques teóricos en torno a las guerras de independencia

Abstract

This article examines the processes leading to the independence of Spanish America trough an assessment of the most recent historiographical intepretations of the subject. The paper considers these processes as part and parcel of broader changes at a global level that replaced the dynastic religious legitimacy with a national one.
