Abstract

The article refers to a good example of a conditioned constitutionality ruling, in which the Colombian Constitutional Court played an excellent role in explaining, one by one, the reasons that motivated a change in previous precedents regarding abortion. For the first time in one hundred years, the Court has enabled Colombian women to decide about pregnancy. This article intends to analyze this ruling of the Colombian Constitutional Court, referring to the values and principles that were weighted by the Judges, and the interpretation that took place, to derive in a critical reflection around the case.
