Reflections of a Jurist in Crisis
Main Article Content
Abstract
Starting from a positive and constructive view of the term "crisis," the author introduces her reflections on law and the role of jurists as researchers, legal practitioners, and intermediaries between social and legal reality. She also analyzes the importance of seeking coherence between the law studied, explained, and applied, and the needs of contemporary society. She invites jurists to become social mediators, committed to influencing society. To this end, she acknowledges the shift in the legal perspective, moving from a law of uniformity, typical of the liberal state, to a law of diversity that considers different subjects and activities. She identifies the reasons that distance contemporary law from the traditional postulates upon which jurists base their work, conceiving it instead as a law of complex realities that demand comprehensive solutions within the context of globalization, which gives current reality its unique characteristics.
