Abstract

The author analyses the concept of sovereignty and the emergence of new forms of regionalism in Latin America. The spread of regional organizations as ALBA, UNASUR, CELAC as “new regionalism” structures appeared in the last years has different internal and external conditions. However, regional integration most important obstacle is the concept of national sovereignty due to its complexity. In this logic, the author proposes to challenge regional integration making conceptual changes of national sovereignty leading to establish a long term strategy in order to generate regional governance.
