Ecuador Position supported by Foreign Minister Heinz Moeller at the expanded meeting of foreign affairs ministers and CAN ministers. Lima, November 23, 2001
Abstract
The Ecuadorian position is aimed at solving the problems affecting intra-subregional trade, with special reference to safeguards, deferrals in the application of tariffs, subsidies and others, which constitute flagrant violations of the Andean Community's legal system. All Andean countries have applied these mechanisms to a greater or lesser extent, which makes it essential to adopt definitive actions to solve these problems and revitalize the integration process.
