About the Journal
Focus and scope
Comentario Internacional is an annual academic publication (December) that distributes original articles in Spanish and English. The journal goes deeper into the global debate in Latin America concerning International Studies from theoretical and empirical works via diverse methodological focuses.
Founded and edited by the Andean Center of International Studies of the Simón Bolívar Andean University, the journal aims to promote contemporary debate, generate new knowledge and contribute to tackling some of the most important questions in International Relations, International Law, International Economics and Political Science.
Comentario Internacional is an open access publication. The journal is aimed at students, academics and researchers in the field of International Studies, as well as other readers with affinities for the academic subject presented in each issue.
Each issue of the journal is structured around a central issue and includes other issues of political and economic relevance, various these, historical documents, special events, and book reviews.
The Journal’s sections are:
Central Issue
Each issue contains a dossier specialized in an issue that has been previously approved by the Editorial Committee which contains original articles that result from a research process or that have been presented in academic events. The manuscripts approach a contemporary issue in International Studies.
Relevance
This section contains original articles concerning current events of the international reality at the time of the call for papers. The academic basis of the analysis articles allows the reader/researcher to understand the temporary elements that configure the work issue at the time of its publication.
Other Issues
This section is dedicated to the publication of theoretical studies and analyses, research projects completed in the University or in other domestic and international academic centers concerning diverse issues that are not part of a specific theme.
Archives
Here, documents are presented that, thanks to their historic and scientific interest, are important for understanding the international reality.
Special Events
This section contains transcriptions that were previously presented, and which are considered to be of public interest, especially for their current value with respect to issues of critical reflection.
Reviews
This section presents a critical analysis and opinion of the content of current publications on topics related to the journal’s specialized theme.
